The Grand Mufti of Egypt and Ambassador Alaa Youssef Discuss Cooperation on Community Awareness

Cairo: His Eminence Dr. Nazir Ayad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, welcomed Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Board Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS), to deliberate on potential collaborations between the SIS and Dar al-Ifta. The discussions aimed at enhancing media and public awareness efforts across Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting underscored the importance of fortifying partnerships between religious and media institutions to tackle societal challenges and increase awareness of issues impacting citizens' everyday lives. Dr. Nazir Ayad highlighted the significance of utilizing media and public-awareness tools to support family and societal stability, reinforce shared values, and promote a sound religious discourse.

Ambassador Alaa Youssef lauded Dar al-Ifta's role in fostering religious awareness and addressing societal issues, emphasizing that collaboration with the SIS would enhance the dissemination of awareness messages. The meeting also focused on preparations for the upcoming 11th International Conference of Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah, to be held in Cairo, themed around family challenges amid global transformations.

The conference, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, will gather delegations from 80 countries, including scholars and specialists, to discuss a fatwa-based approach to family protection and identity preservation. Ambassador Youssef affirmed the SIS's commitment to supporting the conference with comprehensive media coverage through its platforms.

Efforts will also include engaging foreign media and correspondents, with 50 already registered to cover the event. Furthermore, the SIS plans to incorporate the conference's outcomes into its media agendas to promote public discussion on family issues and social cohesion.
