Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa arrived on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Manas International Airport in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, at the start of a visit to participate on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the deputy prime minister was received upon arrival by Sytik Jumakadyrovich, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Counselor Ibrahim Hamza, Charg© d' Affaires of the Egyptian Mission to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Issa is scheduled to deliver Egypt's address at the summit, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The summit is attended by a number of heads of state and government from member states, observer states, and dialogue partners, as well as senior representatives of several international organizations. The visit to Kyrgyzstan also includes a series of high-level bilateral meetings with officials from several countries participating in the summit, in addition to meetings with representatives of international organizations.
