Cairo: Somalia's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ali Abdi Aware, expressed gratitude towards Egypt for its steadfast support under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This acknowledgment came amid ongoing challenges faced by Somalia.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ambassador's remarks were made following his participation in a ceremony organized by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry to commemorate Africa Day. During the event, he commended statements by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, who underscored the necessity of bolstering Somalia's national institutions and enhancing the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The ambassador also highlighted Egypt's influential role in advancing the development agenda across African countries. This role has been particularly significant since President Sisi took over as the head of the AUDA-NEPAD Steering Committee, where he has been instrumental in supporting reconstruction and development initiatives throughout the continent.
