Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, held talks on Monday, May 26, 2025, with members of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with the Mashreq Countries, led by Committee Chair MEP Laurent Castillo. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation under the newly elevated Egypt-EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to working closely with all EU institutions, including the European Parliament, to advance this strategic partnership. He highlighted the strong political and economic ties between Egypt and the EU, noting the vital role of the Parliament in implementing the six key pillars of the partnership - including economic cooperation and the EU's financial support package.
He also briefed the delegation on Egypt's efforts in addressing regional challenges, outlining the country's positions on developments in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, and Libya. Abdelatty stressed the direct link between Middle East stability and European security, underlining Egypt's role as a regional stabilizing force.
