Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy chaired an extraordinary virtual meeting of the executive bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs to discuss humanitarian conditions in the region. The meeting was attended by ministers and officials from several Arab countries, along with representatives of the Arab League, and aimed to review the latest developments in the Arab region, particularly in Lebanon.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Morsy highlighted the need for coordinated efforts to address humanitarian challenges, citing developments in Palestine and Lebanon as areas of concern. She reiterated Egypt’s commitment to humanitarian efforts, including ongoing aid deliveries to Gaza and a substantial shipment of about 1,000 tons of relief supplies sent to Beirut to support displaced people.
Morsy also advocated for stronger cooperation and support for Arab funding mechanisms to ensure continued assistance. Participants in the meeting expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting affected countries.
