Cairo:Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS), met with the Tahya Misr Youth Union to explore collaboration on programs that engage young people in dialogue, enhance their digital skills, and adapt to rapid changes in the digital landscape.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting is part of SIS's broader initiative to engage youth in awareness-building, familiarize them with national efforts, and improve their digital literacy. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's focus on youth issues and aims to empower young Egyptians to contribute positively to society, supporting social cohesion and development.
Ambassador Youssef emphasized the importance of providing youth with platforms to express their ideas and initiatives, highlighting their potential as a significant force for development. He stressed the need for youth to have a solid understanding of national issues and the ability to discern reliable information, allowing them to interact responsibly with various media.
SIS aims to enhance communication with young people across different regions, addressing their concerns and listening to their perspectives on national and strategic issues. The organization views youth as partners in these efforts, not just recipients of information.
Mostafa Qatamish, Head of Tahya Misr Youth Union, presented the union's activities and achievements since its establishment. He outlined the union's initiatives and its vision for continued positive societal impact, marking its first anniversary as an independent entity under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ambassador Youssef commended the union's role in fostering youth engagement and its potential to support awareness-building amidst the fast-paced information environment. He stressed the importance of enhancing youth's digital literacy and their responsible engagement with digital content and artificial intelligence.
The meeting concluded with an open dialogue on potential SIS initiatives, including seminars, training programs, and digital activities, aimed at bolstering youth capabilities and empowerment in society.
