SIS Board Honors Diaa Rashwan in First Meeting After Restructuring

Cairo: Egypt's State Information Service (SIS) board held its first meeting after being restructured, expressing gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his support and the recent decree that reshaped the body. The session, chaired by Ambassador Alaa Youssef, commenced with an honor for Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan for his nine years of leadership within the SIS. Members commended his efforts in strengthening the institution's presence both domestically and internationally.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the board deliberated on strategies to enhance the SIS's mission of accurately portraying Egypt's image, countering misinformation, and serving as an essential data hub for state institutions. Upgrading multilingual websites to showcase Egypt's policies and achievements was also a key agenda item.

Ambassador Youssef highlighted that the newly restructured board comprises leading media experts, poised to advance the SIS's work. The meeting was convened at the agency's headquarters in Nasr City and included members such as Mohamed Fahmy, Editor-in-Chief of The Egyptian Gazette and The Egyptian Mail newspapers, Dr. Howaida Mostafa as deputy chair, Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farahat, Nevine Mohamed Kamel Omar, Abdel Moati Abu Zeid, and Alaa Eldin Kamel Thabet.
