Paris: Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Walid Gamal El-Din, has embarked on a promotional tour in France to highlight investment opportunities available for French investors in key sectors identified by SCZONE. He participated in the Egypt-France Business Forum in Paris, which was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to France, Alaa Youssef, along with senior officials and representatives from prominent French and Egyptian companies and institutions.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum attracted significant participation from French companies in sectors such as retail, energy, food industries, logistics, construction, and aerospace. Notable companies included Airbus Helicopters, ATRAD, Auchan, Carrefour, Cegedim, CMA/CGM, EDF EN, Sanofi, Schneider Electric, and Renault M, among others. French governmental and institutional entities also took part, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Business France.
The Egyptian delegation comprised the Egyptian Embassy, Egyptian Commercial Service, and several private sector companies like AFRO Group and Galina Egypt. Gamal El-Din, during his speech, emphasized that the SCZone offers an integrated environment favorable for industrial and logistics investment, equipped with six seaports and four industrial zones. These facilities are designed to cater to sectors like food industries, automotive manufacturing, and logistics services, which are pivotal for Egypt's economic growth.
On the sidelines of the forum, Gamal El-Din engaged in bilateral meetings with senior executives from key companies. Discussions with Mr. Ghislain Ehramann, CEO of SODILAC, focused on expanding cooperation in food industries, particularly child nutrition products. He also met Mr. Maxime Nicolas from Airbus Helicopters to explore investment opportunities in manufacturing.
Additionally, Gamal El-Din discussed expansion opportunities in energy management and digital industries with Mr. Pierre Grojugiat of Schneider Electric. He also explored advanced production lines in industrial engineering and electric mobility technologies with Mr. David Avram of Fives Group, underscoring SCZone's strategic role in attracting industrial investments.
