SCZONE and Samil Solution Forge $4.5 Million Garment Factory Agreement

Cairo: Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed an agreement with South Korea's Samil Solution Co. Ltd to establish a $4.49 million ready-made garments factory in the West Qantara Zone, SCZONE announced recently.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the factory will cover an area of 21,000 square meters and is set to produce approximately 8.8 million knit and woven garments annually for export. This initiative is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs and represents the second investment from South Korea in the zone.

SCZONE Chairman Waleed Gamal El-Dein stated that the agreement highlights West Qantara's increasing significance as a center for textiles and apparel manufacturing. The industrial zone is currently home to 46 projects across 2.86 million square meters, with total investments amounting to $1.19 billion from eight countries, providing employment to more than 63,000 individuals.

Samil Solution, headquartered in Seoul, is a global apparel manufacturer with a presence in Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, the United States, France, and Brazil, catering to leading international fashion brands.
