Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday, 6 November 2025, expressed appreciation and congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the successful conclusion of the Egyptian-Qatari investment partnership to develop the Alam Al-Roum area in Marsa Matrouh.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly said that the deal would not have been possible without the leaders' directives, keenness, and personal follow-up, describing the project as one of Qatar's largest global real estate ventures. He made the remarks during a ceremony marking the signing of the partnership agreement between Egypt's Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities-represented by the New Urban Communities Authority-and Qatari Diar Real Estate Company.
Madbouly extended his gratitude to Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman for his continued follow-up, and to the teams from both sides for their months-long negotiations to finalize the deal. The Prime Minister highlighted the project as a milestone in Cairo's ongoing development of its northwestern coast, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030 and the national urban development plan, which aims to accommodate over 17 million residents in the North Coast region.
He also reviewed Egypt's economic momentum across four key growth sectors, industry, agriculture, ICT, and tourism, emphasizing recent industrial expansions, agricultural land reclamation projects, Egypt's rise as a global outsourcing hub, and the international acclaim following the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
