Alexandria: The national 'Safe Step' initiative kicked off in Alexandria with a sports marathon outside the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to raise awareness of the risks of human trafficking and promote human rights.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the human trafficking victims assistance fund organized the event in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alexandria governorate, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Members of the youth parliament, youth groups, and a Senate simulation model participated, alongside volunteers.

The event included a group warm-up, an awareness marathon, and interactive activities highlighting prevention methods and signs of digital and physical recruitment. Alexandria's youth and sports directorate emphasized the role of sports in raising awareness and protecting vulnerable groups.
