Cairo:According to State Information Service Egypt, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has instructed the Supply and Internal Trade Ministry to maintain continuous oversight of bread and subsidized goods systems. This directive aims to ensure that essential commodities are adequately supplied in the market.

During a meeting with Supply and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk, Madbouly emphasized the importance of regular supplies, sufficient stock maintenance, and prompt responses to any consumer complaints or disruptions affecting access to essential goods. The meeting focused on the availability of flour for bakeries and the consistent production and distribution of subsidized bread, along with the supply of essential commodities through various outlets.

Farouk highlighted that the ministry is actively monitoring stock levels and distribution rates to meet market demand. He also discussed plans to review and verify subsidy-card data to enhance the subsidy system's efficiency, ensuring that benefits reach eligible recipients while protecting their rights.

Additionally, the minister reviewed strategic stock levels and measures to secure market needs, maintain safe inventory levels, and monitor commodity movements and prices. Progress was also reported on an initiative to reduce commodity prices. The ministry has expanded this initiative by adding 18 products, bringing the total number of discounted goods to 30, in an effort to diversify available products and alleviate the cost of living.
