New delhi: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is set to participate in a closed-door session with BRICS leaders in New Delhi, focusing on themes such as resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. This meeting is part of a larger summit taking place in the Indian capital.
According to State Information Service Egypt, President Sisi will deliver Egypt's statement during the session, which emphasizes inclusive global governance and the strengthening of multilateral action. Following the session, President Sisi and other BRICS leaders will tour an exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the BRICS grouping. Additionally, a dinner banquet hosted by the Indian Prime Minister will honor the visiting leaders.
Egypt's engagement with BRICS highlights priorities such as launching joint projects in crucial sectors, expanding economic and financial cooperation, and advocating for reforms in the global financial system. Notably, after Egypt's accession to BRICS, the 2024 Kazan Summit resulted in two significant documents: a political declaration and a guide on the accession criteria for partner countries. The subsequent 2025 Rio de Janeiro Summit produced three key documents, including a declaration on the global governance of AI, a framework on climate finance, and the Rio de Janeiro declaration, which served as the summit's main concluding document.
