Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday, July 04, 2026, praised the longstanding cooperation between Egypt and Russia, expressing appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his support of major development projects.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sisi spoke after inaugurating Egypt's State Strategic Command headquarters in the New Capital. He announced that the coming days will witness the installation of the reactor pressure vessel for the second nuclear unit at the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. This project is highlighted as one of the flagship initiatives of the strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia.

The President emphasized that the Dabaa plant is expected to make a significant contribution to sustainable development by providing clean energy for investment projects and essential public services.
