Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday, July 04, 2026, directed the government to press ahead with reforming the education system based on merit and excellence, linking educational outcomes to labor market needs, and expanding programs to identify and nurture talented students to build generations capable of innovation and global competitiveness.

According to State Information Service Egypt, following the inauguration of the State Strategic Command headquarters, "the Octagon," Sisi also instructed the government to develop a plan to restructure the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), with a greater focus on productive sectors. He further called for simplifying procedures related to business establishment, financing, and licensing while increasing youth participation in economic activity.
