President Sisi Greets Bereft Family of Honored Police Hero

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi greeted the family of martyr Colonel Rami Ali Ahmed Hilal during the celebration marking the 74th anniversary of Police Day in a gesture filled with support.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the late officer left a family consisting of three daughters, a son, and a wife who has continued to care for them since his death in 2019. During the Police Day celebration at the Police Academy in New Cairo, a documentary film was screened highlighting Sisi's honoring of the fallen hero's family in 2020. The film showed the late officer's young son, Ali, holding the president's hand during that ceremony.

The martyr's family greeted the president, who was keen to take a commemorative photo with them. He expressed his support and urged the family to remain in constant contact. President Sisi also voiced his appreciation for the martyr's wife and children, expressing pride in them and in Ali's desire to follow in his father's footsteps by joining the police force.

Hilal played a key role in Egypt's security efforts, notably in pursuing those involved in the assassination of former Public Prosecutor Hesham Barakat, as well as attempts to assassinate former Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim and Counselor Zakaria Abdel Aziz.
