President Sisi Attends Launch of Maritime Terminals at SCZONE in Port Said

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday attended a ceremony for the inauguration of several maritime terminals in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) at East Port Said Port. The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Quran, followed by a documentary film titled '10 Years of Achievements'.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of APM Terminals, Keith Svendsen, delivered a speech praising the pivotal role of President Sisi and Egypt in hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. Svendsen highlighted Egypt's leadership in promoting stability in the Middle East and the fruitful cooperation between the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and the company, which has yielded positive results over the years. He also announced the company's intention to increase its investments in Egypt and thanked the Egyptian government for the facilities and support provided.

El Sisi inaugurated the Suez Canal Automotive Terminal (SCAT) via video conference during the ceremony, which was held to launch several new maritime facilities within the Suez Canal Economic Zone at East Port Said. The SCAT terminal is a recent addition to the zone's expanding port infrastructure, aiming to enhance the efficiency and capacity of automotive handling at East Port Said.
