President El-Sisi Leads Armed Forces Council Meeting

New Capital:President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, led a session of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting coincided with the 53rd anniversary of the October Victory. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the Presidential Spokesman, noted that upon arrival, President El-Sisi was received by Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, along with Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and other senior commanders.

During the meeting, President El-Sisi extended congratulations to the Armed Forces on the October 1973 victory anniversary. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining high combat readiness to effectively protect the nation amidst regional challenges and changes.

Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher delivered a speech detailing the Armed Forces' ongoing missions. Additionally, a presentation by the Chief of the Armed Forces Operations Authority discussed future conscription policy.

The meeting also reviewed recent regional and international events and their implications for Egypt's national security. The importance of the Armed Forces’ continued dedication to protecting national borders and maintaining stability was reiterated.

A commemorative photograph was taken of President El-Sisi with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces members following the meeting.
