President El-Sisi Engages in Phone Call with President of Lebanese Republic

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a phone conversation with President of the Lebanese Republic Joseph Aoun today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that President El-Sisi extended his congratulations to President Aoun on the 82nd anniversary of Lebanon's independence. The conversation underscored the pride in the enhanced bilateral relations between the two nations.

During the exchange, President Aoun conveyed his gratitude for President El-Sisi's acknowledgment on Independence Day. He noted the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Egyptian-Lebanese relationship across various domains, highlighting the historical connections between the two countries and Lebanon's commitment to maintaining strong ties with Egypt.

President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's support for Lebanon's sovereignty and the importance of adhering to UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also expressed backing for the Lebanese government's initiative to centralize weapon control under state authority.

President Aoun praised Egypt's support for Lebanon, reiterating Lebanon's dedication to centralizing weapon control under state institutions. He called on the international community to support the Lebanese army, highlighting the significant national responsibilities it undertakes and acknowledging Egypt's support for Lebanon's military and security sectors.
