PM: Top Priority Given to Securing Funding to Meet Essential Needs

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli emphasized the government's focus on securing adequate financing to meet the state's essential needs, enhance partnerships with the business community, improve services, and implement a balanced fiscal policy aimed at boosting growth and ensuring financial and economic stability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli's remarks came during a meeting with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk to review key ministry files. The finance minister highlighted the ministry's efforts to provide necessary funding for the state's essential needs. Kouchouk reiterated the government's commitment to expenditure rationalization measures and increasing allocations for sectors to enhance their responsiveness to exceptional circumstances.

Kouchouk stressed the importance of securing citizens' basic needs and ensuring production inputs for investors. He outlined the coordination between the ministries of finance, investment, and foreign trade to maintain trade operations through ports and customs outlets, ensuring a steady flow of goods and supply chains.

Regarding the 2026/2027 fiscal year budget, Kouchouk stated it is structured with clear priorities to be balanced and flexible, containing sufficient reserves to address potential risks, thereby supporting growth and improving services for citizens and investors.

The minister also mentioned his visit to a premium tax services center in New Cairo aimed at boosting business confidence by providing facilitation, expanding the tax base, and using modern technology to simplify procedures. Additionally, he reviewed a package of draft laws approved by the Cabinet, which are to be submitted to parliament as part of efforts to enhance the legislative environment and improve the business climate.
