Electricity Minister and Siemens Discuss Advances at National Energy Control Center

Cairo: Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat met with a Siemens delegation, led by Siemens Egypt CEO Mostafa el Bagouri, to assess the progress at the National Energy Control Center (NECC) following its recent trial operations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on ongoing cooperation, with discussions about expanding partnerships in grid monitoring and operations systems (SCADA) and energy management systems (EMS) utilizing the latest technology. The execution status of the NECC, located in the New Capital, was also reviewed as the center prepares for its official inauguration.

Minister Esmat highlighted the critical function of national and regional control centers in maintaining grid stability and ensuring optimal, safe power distribution in line with international standards. He noted that the new center facilitates integrated monitoring of all production units, including those using renewable energy, ensuring efficient operations and managing power exchange with neighboring countries. Esmat expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Siemens and Hassan Allam company.
