Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Thursday, August 13, 2026, witnessed the signing of six cooperation protocols and memos of understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and civil society organizations to implement development projects at 23 youth centers across several Egyptian governorates.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the signing ceremony was held at the Cabinet headquarters in New Alamein City. The event was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Johar Nabil, Awqaf Minister Osama el Azhari, National Alliance for Civil Development Work Board of Trustees Chairman Khaled Abdel Aziz, and Misr El-Kheir Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Ali Gomaa.
The six agreements were signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and various organizations, including the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, Misr El-Kheir Foundation, Sonaa El-Kheir Foundation for Development, Lebaladna Foundation for Development and Social Services, El-Seddiqia Foundation for Cultural and Social Services, and Dr. Hassan Abbas Zaki Development Association.
These agreements aim to unify efforts between the ministry and civil society organizations to develop youth centers and enhance their developmental and community roles. The initiatives will target the development of 23 youth centers over a period of up to two years, focusing on border governorates and Upper Egypt to promote geographical equity and expand access to development opportunities and services for young people.
The cooperation will include training programs benefiting 500,000 young people and beneficiaries annually in areas such as entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and vocational and heritage crafts. It will also involve developing community and vocational workshops and transforming youth centers in border areas and Upper Egypt into integrated community service centers.
Furthermore, the agreements provide for a universal accessibility code for people with disabilities at youth centers, ensuring that all services and activities effectively accommodate different needs. The partnership also supports community development and the social inclusion of vulnerable groups. Prime Minister Madbouly stated that the government is working to develop youth centers across all governorates to serve young people in various fields, including sports, community empowerment, health, economic, cultural, scientific, digital, and political awareness, as well as community service and human development.
He emphasized that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has consistently directed the government to take necessary measures to advance youth and sports activities through a scientific approach, contributing to comprehensive and healthy development among young people and children and promoting sports as a culture and way of life.
Youth and Sports Minister Johar Nabil highlighted that the protocols are part of the Egyptian Youth Strategy 2025-2030 and are aligned with Egypt Vision 2030. He added that they reflect the ministry's efforts to expand effective partnerships between the government, civil society, and the private sector. The Minister noted that the partnerships seek to support local development, provide sustainable income opportunities for young people, and strengthen the developmental and community role of youth centers nationwide.
