Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inspected a family medicine center in Kafr El Sheikh on Saturday, September 12, 2026. This visit highlights Egypt's commitment to expanding primary healthcare services in rural areas as part of the Decent Life 'Hayah Karima' initiative.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly's visit to the El Gezira El Khadra village in Motobas is part of a broader tour of development projects in the governorate. The Prime Minister emphasized the government's goal to provide essential healthcare in rural villages, reducing the need for residents to travel to hospitals for specialized treatments.

Madbouly noted that the healthcare projects are part of a larger effort to enhance public services and infrastructure in rural areas. These improvements include drinking water, sanitation, roads, electricity, and communications, aiming to elevate the quality of life in these communities.

Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the role of family medicine centers as the primary access point for daily healthcare. These centers are vital for treatment, preventive care, early detection, and patient follow-up. The El Gezira El Khadra center offers services such as emergency care, family medicine, dentistry, vaccinations, maternal and child healthcare, pregnancy monitoring, and chronic disease management. Patients needing advanced treatment are referred to specialized hospitals.

Officials reported that 23 healthcare projects are part of the first phase of the Decent Life initiative in Motobas. This includes the construction of 13 new health units, renovation of 10 existing units, a hospital, and six ambulance units.

The wider development program in Motobas also encompasses 18 road projects, 18 electricity projects, 24 irrigation bridges, 15 youth centers, five government service complexes, five agricultural complexes, and various housing and social service projects.

During the visit, Madbouly inspected various facilities, including the emergency room, dental clinic, family medicine clinic, and maternal and child healthcare units. He engaged with patients to discuss the availability and cost of services and stressed the importance of adequate medical staff, medicines, and supplies. The Prime Minister called for improved facilities to be matched by reliable healthcare services and proper patient treatment.
