Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly left Cairo International Airport on Monday, September 21, 2026, for New York to lead Egypt's delegation at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, under the direction of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. According to State Information Service Egypt, the regular session of the 81st General Assembly opened on September 8 and will run until September 7 of the following year under the theme "Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all." The session is chaired by Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman. The general debate is scheduled to begin on September 22, with participation from heads of state and government, foreign ministers, and senior officials from member states, continuing through September 28. During this period, from September 22 to 29, a number of high-level meetings, events, and bilateral talks related to the work of the General Assembly will take place. Madbouly is set to deliver several speeches an d statements during various events and meetings held as part of the 81st session of the General Assembly.
