Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inspected a heritage crafts exhibition in Cairo's historic Al-Muizz Street on Saturday, May 16, 2026, as part of state efforts to support traditional industries and preserve Egypt's cultural identity.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the exhibition, held near Bab Al-Futuh and Al-Hakim Bi Amr Allah Mosque, features around 35 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of handmade and traditional products, including pottery, copperware, wood carving, handmade textiles, leather goods, and carpets.
Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber stated that the exhibition was organized to support craftsmen, promote traditional professions, and encourage younger generations to preserve heritage industries.
During the tour, Madbouly met with exhibitors to discuss challenges facing artisans, such as product marketing and market access, while reaffirming the government's support for heritage industries as a source of employment and cultural value.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to speak with a foreign tourist visiting Al-Muizz Street, who praised the area's historic atmosphere and architectural landmarks.
