Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli began an inspection tour on Saturday of several healthcare facilities under construction or development in Cairo and Giza governorates. He emphasized that the health sector is a top priority on the government's agenda, following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to prioritize citizens' health.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the tour aims to monitor the progress of upgrading public hospitals and ensure the quality of their services. The facilities being inspected include Dar El Salam Oncology Hospital in Harmal, Bulaq Abu El-Ela Hospital, and the Nasser Institute in Cairo, as well as Om El-Masryeen and Bulaq El-Dakrour General Hospitals in Giza.
Madbouli emphasized that the government, in cooperation with the private sector, is working to improve healthcare services, expand hospital capacity, and ensure financial and operational sustainability, alongside implementing the Universal Health Insurance System.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar noted that Egypt invested over EGP 222 billion between 2014 and 2025 in more than 1,255 healthcare projects, significantly upgrading infrastructure, modernizing hospitals, and improving medical services nationwide.
