Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly highlighted the significance of proposed amendments to the Law on Reconciliation of Certain Building Violations, aiming to tackle the challenges and issues encountered during the law's implementation. These amendments are designed to provide more facilitation for citizens to complete their reconciliation applications.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly made these remarks at a meeting held on Monday, September 14, 2026, to discuss amendments to Law No. 187 of 2023. The meeting was attended by Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Hani Hanna, and Minister of Justice Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to addressing citizens' concerns and overcoming the challenges faced, which has led to the drafting of several legislative amendments. These efforts are coordinated among relevant ministries and authorities to address existing obstacles and make the reconciliation process more accessible for citizens.

Madbouly underscored the urgency of discussions on the legal amendments, noting their potential to resolve current issues and ease procedures for citizens. The amendments aim to serve the public interest and bring closure to the matter before being presented to Parliament following Cabinet consideration.

He also stressed the importance of simplifying and accelerating reconciliation procedures, ensuring that citizens' interests are prioritized while balancing law enforcement. This approach is intended to streamline procedures and achieve the law's objectives.

During the meeting, proposed amendments to certain provisions of the reconciliation law were reviewed, which would offer additional facilitation for applicants, providing greater flexibility in the reconciliation process. The premier instructed that the feedback received during the meeting be integrated into the final draft of the amendments.
