Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gamblat met on Monday, September 14, 2026, with Romanian Ambassador to Cairo Olivia Todrin to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities for industrial and investment partnerships between Egypt and Romania.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production's Training Sector in Salam City, where the minister emphasized the ministry's eagerness to deepen bilateral ties and establish new strategic partnerships with Romanian companies in areas of mutual interest. Soliman noted that ongoing cooperation would maximize the use of available manufacturing capabilities, benefiting both nations.

During the discussions, both parties exchanged views on various issues and examined future cooperation opportunities to bolster Egyptian-Romanian relations and support industrial and investment partnerships. Gamblat reiterated the Ministry of Military Production's primary mission of supplying the armed forces and police with essential weapons, ammunition, equipment, and advanced electronic systems.

The minister highlighted the ministry's efforts to utilize surplus production capacity to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices, aligning with the state's objectives to promote local manufacturing and contribute to national and development projects. He also mentioned the ministry's dedication to implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to enhance international cooperation and expand partnerships with global companies, leveraging advanced expertise and technologies to boost national manufacturing capabilities and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.

Gamblat expressed openness to various cooperation opportunities that could add value to the national economy and aid in localizing modern manufacturing technologies. Romanian Ambassador Todrin expressed her appreciation for the Ministry of Military Production's advanced manufacturing capabilities and expertise. She commended the ministry's teams and its strong industrial reputation, noting its commitment to executing joint projects within agreed timelines and adhering to international standards.
