PM: Egypt’s Security Tied to Gulf Stability

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Egypt’s security is inseparable from the security of Gulf Arab states, affirming Cairo’s full support for Gulf countries amid current regional tensions. In his remarks at a press conference on Saturday, 28/3/2026, Madbouli stated that the government held an extended meeting to review regional developments and their economic repercussions, as well as measures taken to address the situation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli added that the state has secured sufficient supplies of goods and services to meet citizens’ needs during the holiday period. He emphasized that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi recently visited the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain to convey Egypt’s support and solidarity, stressing that Cairo rejects attacks targeting those countries and stands alongside them.

Madbouli stated that Egypt continues diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and reduce its impact on the region. On the domestic front, he mentioned that goods are available in stable quantities and prices remain balanced. He noted that recent increases in some commodities, including tomatoes, were temporary due to supply disruptions and have since been eased.
