Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and officials from the European Commission to discuss regional developments and ways to reduce escalation.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the talks, the parties addressed the current military escalation and emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts for immediate de-escalation through dialogue and diplomatic channels to avoid further instability. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s continuous engagement with regional partners to support negotiations between the United States and Iran aimed at easing tensions.
Abdelatty also reiterated Egypt’s rejection of attacks targeting Gulf countries and Jordan, confirming Cairo’s support for their security and stability. Meanwhile, European officials acknowledged the resilience of the Egyptian economy in navigating regional challenges and external shocks. All parties agreed to maintain coordination to support de-escalation and stability in the region.
