PM Calls for Stronger Manufacturing Sector to Boost Egypt’s Growth

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly underscored the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen Egypt's economic structure by increasing reliance on productive sectors, particularly non-oil manufacturing, in a way that helps boost production and exports, deepen local manufacturing, improve competitiveness, and create more jobs.According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting with Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom to review developments in the Egyptian economy, the implementation of the economic and social development plan, key performance indicators, growth rates achieved in the past fiscal year, and the government's national economic transformation program.The Prime Minister called for building on the growth achieved despite ongoing regional tensions, increasing growth rates, and maintaining sustainable growth to strengthen Egypt's ability to withstand regional and international challenges.The meeting also reviewed preparations for the national economic transformation program, which aims to support sustainable growth, raise productivity and competitiveness, and strengthen sectors capable of creating jobs and increasing the added value.Madbouly also reviewed the outcome of the Planning Minister's recent visit to the UAE and efforts to enhance development cooperation and support entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of expanding the regional activities of successful Egyptian companies and called for continued support for startups, innovation and entrepreneurship.
