Cairo: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa praised Egypt's continued support for the Palestinian Cause at international forums during a meeting on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with Egypt's newly appointed Ambassador to Palestine, Bassem Abdel Hady.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place in Ramallah, where the two officials discussed the robust Palestinian-Egyptian relations and the importance of expanding cooperation between their countries. Mustafa highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including increasing settler attacks and settlement expansion. He also addressed the economic challenges faced by the Palestinian Authority due to the withholding of clearance revenues and restrictions on Palestinian workers.

Ambassador Bassem reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian Cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. He emphasized Egypt's commitment to easing the suffering of Palestinians, strengthening bilateral coordination, and advancing efforts towards establishing an independent Palestinian state.
