Accra:The National Council for Women emphasized the importance of broadening rural development efforts and transitioning from direct aid to economic empowerment during a Cabinet preparatory session. This session, held on Friday, October 16, 2026, aimed to set the stage for the upcoming "Egypt Forum 2026," scheduled for October 19-24.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Nesreen El-Baghdadi, Vice President of the NCW, advocated for increased private-sector participation in village development. She also highlighted the necessity for integrated social protection databases and called for enhanced support for foster families and elderly care to promote family stability.

The discussion underscored the significance of digital transformation, improved coordination among civil society entities, and sustainable job creation as means to foster self-reliance among vulnerable households.
