Bangkok:During the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Syrian Finance Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks focused on expanding economic and financial cooperation between Egypt and Syria. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nader Zaki highlighted the emphasis on the historical and fraternal ties shared by the two nations.
The ministers noted the importance of a recent visit by an Egyptian economic delegation to Syria, which Abdelatty described as a significant step toward enhancing economic relations. Preparations are also being made for Abdelatty to visit Damascus in the near future.
