Cairo: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has been named the most valuable brand in Egypt for 2025, with a brand value of $717 million. This achievement was highlighted in Brand Finance's ranking of the world's most influential brands.
According to State Information Service Egypt, NBE has maintained its position at the top of the list for the third consecutive year. The bank's brand value experienced a 9% increase in 2025, driven by strong financial performance, an expanding customer base, a diversified product offering, and growth in digital banking and sustainable finance.
NBE continues to be Egypt's largest bank by customer base, deposits, and financing, boasting over 22 million customers. As of June 2026, total deposits reached approximately EGP 6.1 trillion, with around EGP 4.2 trillion in retail deposits. The bank operates 707 branches and banking units and more than 7,520 ATMs. Its digital banking services have expanded significantly, with over 8.8 million retail customers using the Al Ahly Net platform.
The bank's corporate and syndicated-loan portfolio grew to approximately EGP 5.5 trillion by the end of June 2026, reflecting a 14% increase from the previous year. Direct financing accounted for about EGP 4.6 trillion, while indirect financing reached EGP 845 billion. The number of active large corporate customers rose to 1,650, with 110 new clients added, having approved credit limits totaling EGP 36.6 billion.
During the first half of 2026, NBE arranged 19 syndicated financing deals worth EGP 169 billion, contributing EGP 60 billion to the total. The bank also directed EGP 397 billion towards financing environmental and social projects, including solar power, water treatment, sustainable transport, and green buildings.
NBE reported a net profit of EGP 132.2 billion for the first nine months of 2025, marking an 11.7% increase from EGP 118.4 billion the previous year. Pre-tax profits reached EGP 242.7 billion, with net interest income at EGP 250.9 billion and net fees and commissions income at EGP 26.2 billion. The bank's total assets were approximately EGP 8.93 trillion by the end of September 2025, with a combined customer and bank loan portfolio exceeding EGP 4.5 trillion.
Brand Finance's evaluation of Egypt's top 10 brands placed their combined value at $3.3 billion in 2025.
