Ministries Sign MoU to Enhance Digital Skills for Youth and Labor Sector

Hanoi:During a recent event, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi and Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between their respective ministries. This agreement aims to implement digital institutional development projects for the Ministry of Labor and its related entities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the MoU outlines plans to boost digital culture and build skills necessary to meet the demands of the labor market and digital economy. It supports the state's efforts to construct a secure and inclusive digital society. The MoU was signed by Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development, and Nashwa Abdo El-Shabki, Head of the Central Administration for Human Resources at the Ministry of Labor.

Minister Hindi emphasized that developing digital skills is essential for digital transformation and creating an integrated digital society. The cooperation focuses on supporting digital development at the Ministry of Labor by enhancing employee skills for a digital work environment and implementing programs to raise digital awareness. These initiatives aim to open opportunities for youth in freelancing and leverage the digital economy.

Hindi also noted the collaboration as a reflection of the integration of state efforts to expand digital training programs and align them with labor market needs. He highlighted the importance of skills like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for job readiness. The cooperation also involves making Labor Ministry services accessible via the Egypt Digital Portal, which now offers an employment certificate service.

Labor Minister Raddad stated that the MoU highlights the commitment to integrate labor and digital transformation systems, utilizing technology to improve service efficiency and support the state's move toward a knowledge-based economy.

The agreement aims to support digital development at the Ministry of Labor's facilities and enhance digital capabilities and job performance. It also seeks to expand digital education to various societal groups, especially graduates and job seekers, promoting digital and financial inclusion.

Areas of cooperation include enhancing digital culture, financial inclusion, and IT's role in service improvement, along with developing digital skills through various training programs. This includes raising awareness of technologies like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and promoting safe digital practices.
