Egypt Aims to Enhance Economic Ties with Turkey

Istanbul:Egypt's Finance Minister, Ahmed Kouchouk, has emphasized the intention to broaden economic collaboration and share expertise with Turkey, with the goal of developing progressive fiscal policies in both nations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk expressed Egypt's eagerness to deepen economic integration by enhancing trade, transport, and logistics connectivity between the two countries. His comments came during a meeting with Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek at the Istanbul Economic Forum.

Kouchouk highlighted efforts to exchange expertise in areas such as digital transformation, customs and tax development, and public procurement. He also stressed the importance of cooperation in human-capital development and institutional capacity-building through training programs that follow international best practices.

Additionally, Kouchouk noted the significance of learning from Turkey's experience in simplifying procedures to boost the competitiveness of the export system, which would support Egypt's ability to access global markets.
