Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar engaged in discussions with a delegation from MTS and Inspur on opportunities for collaboration in the healthcare sector, with a focus on digital transformation to aid in the advancement of Egypt's healthcare system.

According to State Information Service Egypt, ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the meeting examined China's experience in implementing digital transformation in healthcare. The discussion focused on how Egypt could benefit from this experience and the potential returns on applying similar strategies as part of the ministry's vision for digital transformation and healthcare development.

The discussions centered on establishing the Egypt Smart Healthcare Platform, which aims to unify the healthcare system through a digital framework. This platform is designed to integrate patients' medical data and health records across various healthcare facilities, utilizing artificial intelligence technologies to prioritize patient-centric care.

Abdel Ghaffar further mentioned that the platform intends to connect healthcare facilities, addressing the issue of isolated hospitals and systems. This connection is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve service quality, and reduce costs across the board.

The proposed platform will feature digital services such as electronic patient health records, telemedicine services, and a command and control center. The meeting also covered the implementation phases, proposed financing models, and the potential launch of a pilot for the project's initial phase.
