Labour Ministers of Egypt and Jordan Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad met with his Jordanian counterpart, Nidal Al-Qatamin, during the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference in Cairo. Representatives of the three Arab production parties-governments, employers, and workers-participated in the event.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on enhancing joint cooperation and improving the conditions of Egyptian labourers in Jordan. Qatamin emphasized the strong historical ties between Jordan and Egypt that serve as a solid foundation for protecting shared interests. He affirmed the ministry's commitment to maintaining open dialogue to address issues affecting Egyptian workers under Jordanian law, as reported by Petra News Agency.The Jordanian minister highlighted a recent Cabinet decision aimed at reducing bureaucratic hurdles for employers and assisting foreign workers, particularly Egyptians, in regularizing their legal status. Raddad expressed appreciation for this decision, underscoring the impor tance of ongoing coordination between Amman and Cairo. He noted that compliant Egyptian workers would benefit from the grace period provided to legalize their status.
