Cairo:Military Spokesperson Colonel Ahmed Etman has emphasized ongoing efforts to combat illegal gold mining in Egypt. These actions are being executed in accordance with directives from the Armed Forces General Command. The aim is to protect national security, secure Egypt's territory, and preserve the nation's natural resources for future generations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Colonel Etman made these remarks during a press conference. The event was held to announce the results of a large-scale campaign against illegal gold mining in the Eastern Desert and to reveal the launch date of the campaign's fourth phase.

Colonel Etman reiterated that the Armed Forces are dedicated to safeguarding state resources and countering any attempts to compromise national security or exploit natural resources unlawfully. He highlighted that these efforts are integral to the Armed Forces' national mission to secure Egypt's borders and protect the country's wealth, which is considered a fundamental right of the Egyptian people and their future generations.
