Cairo:Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has issued a decree granting financial incentives to medical professionals working in designated healthcare institutions. This decision, made on Thursday, November 5, 2026, follows Cabinet approval and aims to benefit those covered by Law No. 14 of 2014, which regulates medical professionals in entities affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population, excluding those under separate laws or regulations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the decree includes employees of university hospitals, university medical departments, and student hospitals under Chapter Five of Law No. 14 of 2014. The financial benefits will not affect existing incentives and extraordinary-effort allowances outlined in the law, its amendments, and executive regulations.
Under the new decree, medical professionals will receive a fixed performance incentive of EGP 750 per month, contingent on performance assessment criteria such as work attendance and efforts in assigned duties. The incentive distribution is performance-based 100% for those assessed at 90% or higher, 85% for a 70-89% assessment, and 50% for a 50-69% assessment. No incentive will be provided to employees with assessments below 50%.
Additional compensation will be available for extraordinary efforts during night and overnight shifts. This benefit extends to various positions including consultants, specialists, assistant specialists, resident doctors, pharmacists, nursing specialists, health and applied sciences technology specialists, nursing technicians, and health technicians, based on operational requirements.
