Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Saturday, September 12, 2026, that Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate has completed all projects under the first phase of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" and has begun implementing a number of second-phase projects, particularly wastewater projects, in other centers across the governorate.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly made his remarks at the conclusion of his tour of a number of service and development projects in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. During the tour, Madbouly inspected several projects, including the expansion of a drinking water station in Motobas, a family medicine unit and a technology center in Al-Jazira Al-Khadra village, and a major wastewater project in Baltim. He also reviewed the dredging project at Lake Burullus, aimed at improving water quality, and called for studying the possibility of establishing another inlet connecting the lake to the Mediterranean Sea.
The prime minister also visited the industrial zone, where he inspected medium-sized factories and highlighted successful experiences and job opportunities for technical school graduates. He emphasized the importance of encouraging young Egyptians to work in factories and production facilities, describing them as "the real future." He also discussed the attractive wages available in emerging industrial and outsourcing sectors and clarified his previous remarks regarding salaries in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Madbouly highlighted several public-private partnership projects in Kafr El-Sheikh, including the Matrix sports and commercial complex and a new international school. He said such projects demonstrate how cooperation between the state and private sector can provide high-quality services to different segments of society.
He also praised the Kafr El-Sheikh Oncology Center, which provides free cancer treatment and advanced medical services, including radiation therapy. The center allows residents to receive treatment locally rather than traveling to Cairo or Alexandria, while helping reduce waiting times for patients.
Regarding housing, Madbouly said the "Safwat Darah" project is almost fully completed, with only minor finishing works and a central wastewater lifting station remaining. The station is expected to be completed by the end of the year, after which residents will gradually benefit from the project.
Madbouly stressed that field visits are aimed at monitoring the progress of development projects, identifying delays, and setting clear deadlines for completion. He acknowledged that Egypt continues to face significant challenges but reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding the "Decent Life" initiative and improving public services across the country.
