Rome:Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam arrived in Rome to participate in the 2026 Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum, which runs from September 29 to October 2.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum gathers ministers, senior officials, experts, and representatives from international and regional organizations dedicated to water-related issues. Sewilam is expected to engage in several high-level events, including the opening session and a session titled "From the Ministerial Meeting on Water to the UN Water Conference."
He will also join discussions on "Management of Non-Conventional Water Resources" and participate in specialized sessions about coastal groundwater, future water management, and the involvement of younger generations in tackling water challenges.
Additionally, bilateral meetings are arranged for Sewilam with senior officials and international figures to explore ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in water resources management.
Egypt's involvement in the forum underscores its commitment to regional and international cooperation on water resources, sharing expertise on water challenges, and supporting global efforts toward water security and sustainable development. This participation also aligns with Egypt's contributions to the preparations for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference.
