Irrigation Minister Advocates for Enhanced Collaboration Between Cairo Water Week and IWWI

Cairo: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Sewilam held discussions on August 20, 2026, with the managing director of Expotech International and the executive team of the International Water, Waste and Infrastructure (IWWI) exhibition and conference. The focus was on enhancing coordination and cooperation between the IWWI and the ninth Cairo Water Week.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation's headquarters in the New Capital. It addressed ways to integrate the two events, both scheduled for October, to facilitate the exchange of expertise and successful practices.

Discussions also covered challenges facing the water sector both in Egypt and globally, along with strategies to address them. Sewilam emphasized the opportunity presented by the concurrent organization of the events in Cairo to reinforce Egypt's role as a regional hub for dialogue and expertise exchange in water and environmental fields.

Sewilam highlighted that the events would promote partnerships between government entities, research institutions, and international companies, while also supporting the transfer and localization of modern technologies in Egypt. He extended invitations to representatives of Expotech International, the IWWI executive team, and international participants to actively engage in Cairo Water Week.
