Cairo: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem emphasized the robust economic relations between Egypt and Spain, highlighting the historical cooperation across multiple sectors and the alignment of political visions between the two nations. He announced the potential for hosting a roundtable for Spanish companies interested in investing in Egypt, aiming to showcase the available industrial opportunities and investment incentives.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Hashem's remarks were made during a meeting with Spanish Ambassador to Egypt, Sergio Rom¡n Carranza Forster. The discussion focused on enhancing industrial cooperation and attracting more Spanish investments to Egypt. They explored industrial opportunities for Spanish companies and the Spanish Embassy's initiatives to expand their presence in Egypt.

The meeting underscored Egypt's commitment to deepening industrial cooperation with Spain and addressing challenges faced by Spanish companies in the Egyptian market. Hashem expressed the ministry's ambition to increase Spanish involvement in key sectors like textiles, automotive, and renewable energy, leveraging Spain's expertise to boost local manufacturing and industrial capabilities.

Discussions also included expanding local manufacturing and transferring advanced Spanish technologies to Egypt. Hashem highlighted the Industrial Franchise system being developed to facilitate market entry for Spanish SMEs, aiming to reduce investment barriers and attract new investments by offering competitive advantages and incentives.

Ambassador Forster affirmed Spain's interest in strengthening industrial and trade ties with Egypt, acknowledging the significant potential for partnerships. He noted the presence of over 60 Spanish companies in Egypt across several sectors and emphasized the importance of boosting bilateral trade to reflect the strong relationship between the two countries.
