Cairo: Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad engaged in discussions with Yemeni Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mokhtar el Yafai on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, focusing on strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Yemen in the realms of employment, vocational training, and workforce qualification. These talks took place on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions revolved around exchanging expertise and successful experiences to aid the development of labor market policies and programs. The ministers reviewed several potential areas of cooperation, with a particular emphasis on leveraging Egypt's experience in developing and implementing its National Employment Strategy.

A proposal was put forward to establish a joint committee dedicated to collaboration on these issues, aiming to meet the needs of the Yemeni labor market while supporting efforts to create jobs and enhance workforce skills. Minister Raddad elaborated on the key pillars of Egypt's strategy, which include improving the employment system, boosting workforce efficiency, and aligning vocational training with labor market demands.

The meeting further delved into Egypt's initiatives to expand vocational training and job-oriented qualification programs. Raddad highlighted the ministry's mobile training units, which offer training opportunities in various occupations and specializations, reaching remote and rural areas to equip young individuals with market-relevant skills.

Minister Raddad reaffirmed the ministry's dedication to bolstering cooperation with Yemen, emphasizing the significance of sharing expertise and best practices in employment, vocational training, and skills development.
