Cairo: Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem held talks with Head of the Engineers' Syndicate Mohamed Abdel-Ghani on strengthening joint cooperation and mechanisms to utilize Egyptian engineering expertise in support of comprehensive industrial development plans and efforts to localize industry.

According to State Information Service Egypt, at the beginning of the meeting, Hashem stressed that the Ministry of Industry places strong emphasis on maintaining continuous engagement with scientific and professional institutions, particularly the Engineers' Syndicate, which he described as the state's primary technical advisor in engineering fields.

He added that achieving the objectives of Egypt's updated industrial strategy relies heavily on the efficiency and quality of human capital managing the production system. The minister expressed the ministry's interest in benefiting from the syndicate's engineering expertise in training ministry personnel to enhance service quality within the industrial sector.

He also pointed to potential cooperation in facilitating industrial procedures, building permits, and engineering reviews, in a way that improves the investor experience.

For his part, Abdel-Ghani said the syndicate views industry as a key pillar of the national economy and is keen to deepen cooperation with the Ministry of Industry in areas of mutual interest, particularly the facilitation of factory licensing procedures.

He affirmed the syndicate's readiness to deploy its engineering expertise across various specializations to support the ministry and contribute to the implementation of industrial development plans.

Abdel-Ghani also highlighted the importance of launching specialized training and qualification programs for engineers in the industrial sector, in line with the needs of factories and modern technological developments, to build a more competitive engineering workforce.
