Cairo: The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) of the Egyptian Cabinet has disclosed the main highlights of the Ministry of Industry's strategy for the years 2026-2030 through a series of infographics shared on its social media platforms. The strategy is designed to transition industrial action principles into actual implementation via six main pillars, each comprising a set of executive programs and measures.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the strategy is anchored on four governing principles: a scientific approach, partnership with the private sector, institutional integration, and strategic balance. These principles aim to establish a competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystem. Among the pillars is the Strategic Programs Pillar, which includes eight executive programs such as preparing the industrial map, developing legislation, promoting the productive village initiative, addressing distressed factories, transitioning to electric vehicles, and supporting SMEs and institutional development.
The Human Capital Pillar targets capacity-building through the training of technical personnel, expanding industrial apprenticeships, and developing institutional competencies. The strategy emphasizes field-level execution and private sector partnerships. Meanwhile, the Product Pillar seeks to enhance industrial product competitiveness through regulatory oversight, quality standard enforcement, green supply chain development, and localization of testing services.
The Operations and Procedures Pillar focuses on empowering manufacturers by providing industrial land, facilitating investor financing, and supporting development and innovation. The Mechanism Pillar includes preparing an industrial energy map, activating energy service companies, automating procedures, and establishing a manufacturer support unit.
Finally, the Measurement Indicators Pillar aims to track industrial sector performance through metrics like production growth and economic complexity. The strategy's pillars reflect a commitment to linking industrial policies with measurable performance indicators, enhancing integration between business development, human capital growth, and product quality to achieve industrial development targets for 2026-2030.
