New york: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reviewed national efforts and plans to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in a meeting with President of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Jeffrey Sachs on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. During the discussion, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the critical need to address the financing gap that developing countries face in their pursuit of these global objectives.

The meeting also delved into pivotal topics such as climate change and sustainable development, focusing on ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among Egyptian national institutions, universities, research centers, and SDSN partners. This collaborative approach aims to bolster efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, Minister Abdelatty expressed appreciation for the SDSN's involvement in previous editions of the Aswan Forum for Peace and Sustainable Development, highlighting its role in fostering dialogue and cooperation in these areas.
