Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, discussed with Saudi Ambassador in Cairo Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting, Ashour affirmed the depth of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized Egypt's dedication to advancing and strengthening these relations by expanding joint cooperation agreements in all areas of higher education, scientific research, technology, and innovation.
Ashour reviewed the significant expansion achieved in Egypt's higher education system, highlighting opportunities for collaboration with various branches of Egyptian universities as well as foreign university branches. The minister noted Egyptian universities' interest in establishing partnerships with reputable international institutions and offering academic programs that align with the needs of local, regional, and international labor markets, in accordance with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
He also discussed the development of Egyptian university institutions to meet global standards. The meeting further explored mechanisms of cooperation between Egyptian and Saudi universities, with both parties expressing their desire to strengthen the existing partnership in line with the aspirations of the two countries.
